A lecture and workshop in St Albans.

 A FAB Tyvek sample.

I gave a lecture on Friday night in Chiswell Green near St Albans. It almost went like clockwork - I had a problem with my lap top talking to the projector. It is what we all dread and it was the first time it had happened. aaRGGHH!! The lovely ladies of Hertfordshire Guild were very patient while we sorted it. There were lots of familiar faces from workshops I have taught at Art Van Go and several regulars from the shows so the ten minute wait wasn't as excruciating as it might have been.

Painting up the Bondaweb, Tyvek and Vilene Spunbond.

The following day we had a workshop in the church hall for sixteen. Gulp! it is always a worry with that many students because of the power supply we need. Added to that the lovely Sue Dunkerley wanted the workshop to include painted Bondaweb and Tyvek AND Spunbond.
As you will see the students worked hard and produced some fabulous samples - it was bit of a rush to get everything done - but we got there in the end . . . . safely!

 Great Tyvek samples.

Just a few of the gorgeous painted Bondaweb samples.

Painted Vilene Spunbond with plain Bondaweb on the back cut with a soldering iron and then ironed onto black cotton.

The same but with crystal organza and Vilene Spunbond.

This lovely composition by Bonnie (the naughty one at the back) has a Vilene Spunbond background, textured Tyvek and organza seaweed and a seahorse also cut from Vilene Spunbond.

I was well looked after by Paula who supplied my lunch and drinks, coffee and far too many biscuits throughout the day. It was great day despite my worries about fitting it all in - they are a lovely group.

When I finished I gave Kevin from Art Van Go a ring to see what he and Viv were up to that night. As I was only thirty minutes away I thought I would accost them. Viv had just got back from taking the van to Missenden Abbey so the timing was great - we went off to the pub for a delicious hamburger - and yes CHIPS!!! (Gill and Paul joined us and they send you their love Jill) We were finished by 8.30 so Viv and Kevin went back to work and I drove home in record time. A great evening indeed.

I am off to to Tylers Green Village Hall tomorrow night to deliver another lecture, this time for the Chiltern Embroidery and Textile Group so if you are in the area . . . .
They have their own data projector so nothing can go wrong . . !$%*^!!
