A fabulous print. I am slowly catching up with the blog, I taught at Art Van Go last week and am now up in Redditch teaching my ExTex 4 group. So there will be several blog posts coming up in quick succession. So - Design to Stitch for the Eastern Region Residential Weekend at Belsey Bridge conference Centre was booked almost 2 years ago - it was one of those bookings that had been in the diary for ages, and then came and went really fast. The added bonus was that my dear friend Wendy Dolan was also teaching there. We shared the journey over to Suffolk, Wendy drove which as you can imagine was a great relief. And Yes! We managed to get both lots of kit into one car. There some images of Wendy's workshop at the end of this post. Design to Stitch is basically my design workshop with more time to develop your prints with stitch. Painting the Journeys    Discussing the Journeys. The Journeys all lined up. My teaching table . . . Scrummy! A New Stating Point is now by far the most popular workshop I have ever developed. It is very satisfying when a workshop 'works' so well. I taught a 4 day version of this at The Bridge Community Education Centre in Brighton. A scant 15 minutes door to door - it is such a treat to teach so close to home. The Bridge is a great place to work and the food is fabulous. More of that later . . . Torn and layered book pages with painted Bondaweb and lots of gilding flake.  Painted Bondaweb ironed onto newspaper and then printed with a printing block. Simple and very beautiful. A torn and layered sample printed with a spiral printing block. Another torn and layered sample that has been printed. The print has been highlighted in selected areas to give definition. All the commerci

Close up of Jackie's monoprint. It has been a while between posts, the closure of the mail order business generated a huge amount of interest and I was inundated with orders.  The website is now closed and I hope to be able to get all the outstanding orders posted by Thursday 3rd September at the latest. I had several offers to buy the business - but I wanted to keep the mailing list - for my newsletter and my online teaching when it eventually happens. As I am no longer tied down by the mail order business, I can travel for longer periods of time - watch this space. There will soon be news about me teaching more workshops in NZ 2017 and a new teaching tour of the United States 2017/18. It's all very exciting. *** Now back to the UK . . .  It was the 3rd weekend of ExTex 4 on the weekend of 22/23 August. The 3rd weekend means colour theory and mono printing. I know we rarely use colour theory, but is important to know how it works if there is something
