Katie painting her Journey. So - Here I am back at Ballarat with Fibre Arts Australia run by Glenys Mann. www.fibrearts.jigsy.com I love teaching here and most especially catching up with great friends that I have taught with here two and four years ago - Mary Hettmanspurger and Kerr Grabowski from the USA and Marlene Kranz from Australia.  My design workshops have been asked for most particularly in Australia and as they are a great favourite of mine, this is no hardship.  You will have seen that I taught something similar in Canberra. As this is a five day workshop we will be developing the use of the print blocks and creating layered newspaper surfaces to print and stitch onto. The Journeys were painted . . . .  . . . and hung . . . A large skeleton leaf bonded onto a black background. The leaf then had painted Bondaweb ironed onto it which was then foiled. Just FAB! What a fabulous time I had in Canberra. We started with the students painting a journey. Regular readers will be familiar with this by now. Then we did an 'expanded' and a 'flipped out' exercise. This way the group have 3 opportunities for taking sections with

In the garden, a joint quilt by Wilma and Beth. Well I'm here, though it is hard to believe, until I hear the call/croaks of the birds ans see all the beautiful flora and fauna. The flights were great, all on time with great service. I am starting to feel the right way up - though I am waking up as bright as a button at 3am. Hopefully that will get later as the days wear on. I have just returned from seeing a fabulous and very colourful exhibition at The Q Gallery, Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre. The work is by Wilma Cawley and Beth Miller. This is the first time I have posted the blog from my IPad. I am still learning how to use it, so please forgive the odd layout. I can't work out how to centre things. . . . .  Over the last few days I have been ferried about by the wonderful Robyn Duncan who is my hostess while I am in Canberra. Nothing is too much trouble, we are having a great time.  Robyn knows Wilma and was also keen to see the exhibiti
